The Kentucky Association of Counties has hired Denny Nunnelley as Executive Director. KACo's full board met last week and selected their new Director.
The construction of the KMCA Building is progressing nicely. It should be ready for move in by May 2010.

KMCA's position on casino gaming is: It must include a provision that guarantees revenue sharing with all 120 counties or we will vigorously oppose.
The race tracks are making a case for VLT's as revenues and purses decline. Quality horses are difficult to retain and the racing schedule is being cut.
Election 2010 All elected officials will be up for re-election in 2010. All the representatives and half of the Senators.

Constables almost "Con" us again Legislation giving them bullet proof vests and tasers had little support. Legislation failed but a constable with a taser is uninsurable and if they are in a situation where one would need a vest, they should retreat and call 911.
