Please help us. Tell your legislators all legislation:
KMCA's position on Constables:
Constables are constitutional officers and can only be eliminated by constitutional amendment.
We support such an amendment to the constitution eliminating the office. However, that seems highly unlikely. In lieu of constitutional change, KMCA supports legislation that makes them more accountable to Fiscal Courts.
Election 2010 Congratulations to all who had a successful election. We know everyone worked hard. For those who had bad luck in the election, please don’t let your knowledge and willingness to be involved in your community end. Stay involved.

Jail Issues The number of empty jail beds are on the rise as the state reduces it class D’s. This is of concern for counties as the state inmates are released early the county red ink gets higher.
